Following much discussion and planning, Adventist Care was established formally by the Seventh-day Adventist Church with the opening of Sherwin Lodge in 1963 at Rossmoyne. This residential aged care facility was expanded over the coming years and was complemented with an adjacent retirement village. Doctors Freeman and Sherwin, who had significantly and successfully lobbied for this faith-based aged care service, were honoured by the usage of their names on the property. Since its founding, this provider of aged care services built a positive reputation based upon its quality of care. Rossmoyne Waters, as the site is now known, remains an ever-popular retirement destination, built on its decades of experience. The ideally located Rossmoyne Waters offers modern facilities, and a community where seniors feel welcome, safe and valued.
